In 2021, there were more males working as professionals in City of Port Phillip than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Port Phillip in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (10,847 people or 35.9%)
  • Managers (6,720 people or 22.3%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (3,509 people or 11.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 21,076 people in total or 69.8% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, City of Port Phillip - Total population employed 38.1% in Professionals; 20.4% in Managers; and 7.6% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by males in the City of Port Phillip and City of Port Phillip - Total population were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (11.6% compared to 7.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (7.1% compared to 11.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (35.9% compared to 38.1%)

  • Professionals (+352 males)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (+231 males)
  • Labourers (+221 males)
