Dominant groups
In 2016, there were 3,099 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in East St Kilda, compared with 4,448 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in East St Kilda in 2016, compared to Elwood, shows that 31.8% used public transport, while 45.0% used a private vehicle, compared with 21.8% and 53.2% respectively in Elwood.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of East St Kilda and Elwood were:
