Dominant groups
Analysis of the male five year age groups of NSROC Region in 2021 compared to the City of Ryde shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 18.8% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 16.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.2% and 13.8% respectively for the City of Ryde.
The major differences between the male age structure of NSROC Region and the City of Ryde were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 10 to 14 (6.7% compared to 5.2%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (6.9% compared to 9.9%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (6.0% compared to 8.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 35 to 39 (7.7% compared to 9.4%)
Emerging groups
From 2016 to 2021, NSROC Region's male population increased by 16,735 people (5.8%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.13% per year over the period.
The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 70 to 74 (+2,631 males)
- 10 to 14 (+2,269 males)
- 35 to 39 (+2,185 males)
- 75 to 79 (+2,017 males)
