Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in West Ryde in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (912 people or 13.9%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (834 people or 12.7%)
  • Education and Training (603 people or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,349 people in total or 35.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, NSROC Region employed 13.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 16.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 9.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of West Ryde and NSROC Region were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (5.2% compared to 3.7%)
