Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Ryde in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (5,221 males or 15.6%)
  • Construction (3,337 males or 9.9%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (2,935 males or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 11,493 males in total or 34.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 11.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.1% in Construction; and 7.1% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Ryde and Greater Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (15.6% compared to 11.6%)
