Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in East Ryde in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (114 females or 17.9%)
  • Education and Training (94 females or 14.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (87 females or 13.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 295 females in total or 46.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Ryde employed 19.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 12.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of East Ryde and the City of Ryde were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (14.8% compared to 12.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in other services (4.4% compared to 2.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (6.3% compared to 8.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (7.2% compared to 9.0%)
