Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Putney in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (198 females or 19.2%)
  • Education and Training (161 females or 15.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (138 females or 13.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 497 females in total or 48.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Ryde employed 19.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 12.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Putney and the City of Ryde were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (15.6% compared to 12.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (2.6% compared to 5.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (2.2% compared to 4.1%)
