Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in West Ryde in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (662 females or 20.9%)
  • Education and Training (409 females or 12.9%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (359 females or 11.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,430 females in total or 45.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Ryde employed 19.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 12.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of West Ryde and the City of Ryde were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (20.9% compared to 19.4%)
