Analysis of the car ownership of people born overseas in the City of Ryde in 2021 compared to Australia shows that 87.9% of people born overseas were in households that owned at least one car, while 11.0% did not, compared with 92.0% and 6.7% respectively in Australia.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion that owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 46.3% of people born overseas were in households that owned one car; 30.2% owned two cars; and 11.5% owned three cars or more, compared with 32.7%; 38.1% and 21.2% respectively for Australia.
