Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Cooma Urban Area in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- Australian (2,491 people or 38.9%)
- English (2,250 people or 35.1%)
- Irish (762 people or 11.9%)
- Scottish (699 people or 10.9%)
- German (376 people or 5.9%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 6,578 responses in total, or 102.65% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Cooma Urban Area and Rural East were:
