Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Cooma Urban Area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Retail Trade (377 people or 13.2%)
  • Construction (335 people or 11.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (314 people or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,026 people in total or 36.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Snowy Monaro Regional Council area employed 8.8% in Retail Trade; 9.9% in Construction; and 7.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Cooma Urban Area and Snowy Monaro Regional Council area were:
