Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Canberra Corridor in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Public Administration and Safety (82 females or 24.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (55 females or 16.5%)
  • Education and Training (30 females or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 167 females in total or 50.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Snowy Monaro Regional Council area employed 9.3% in Public Administration and Safety; 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 12.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Canberra Corridor and Snowy Monaro Regional Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (24.6% compared to 9.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (5.7% compared to 14.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (9.0% compared to 12.9%)
