Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Cooma Urban Area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (257 females or 18.4%)
  • Retail Trade (220 females or 15.8%)
  • Education and Training (193 females or 13.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 670 females in total or 48.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Snowy Monaro Regional Council area employed 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.2% in Retail Trade; and 12.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Cooma Urban Area and Snowy Monaro Regional Council area were:
