There were more male managers in Rural East in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Rural East in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Managers (226 males or 36.4%)
  • Labourers (109 males or 17.6%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (100 males or 16.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 435 males in total or 70.0% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Snowy Monaro Regional Council area employed 21.2% in Managers; 13.8% in Labourers; and 22.4% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Rural East and Snowy Monaro Regional Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (36.4% compared to 21.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (16.1% compared to 22.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (6.0% compared to 11.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (3.5% compared to 7.8%)
