There were more female professionals in Cooma in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Cooma in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (362 females or 21.8%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (359 females or 21.6%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (315 females or 19.0%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,036 females in total or 62.4% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Rural East employed 19.3% in Professionals; 15.5% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 12.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Cooma and Rural East were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (21.6% compared to 15.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (19.0% compared to 12.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (10.5% compared to 23.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (7.2% compared to 10.7%)

The number of employed females in Cooma increased by 63 between 2016 and 2021.
