Analysis of the female service age groups of Ruse in 2021 compared to Rural Residential shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 23.4% of the female population was aged between 0 and 17, and 24.4% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 25.3% and 22.7% respectively for Rural Residential.
The major differences between the female age structure of Ruse and Rural Residential were:
- A larger percentage of 'Empty nesters and retirees' (13.0% compared to 8.7%)
- A larger percentage of 'Older workers & pre-retirees' (10.6% compared to 7.4%)
