Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 38 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Rural Bendigo, compared with 7,050 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in Rural Bendigo in 2021, compared to the City of Greater Bendigo, shows that 0.4% used public transport, while 66.3% used a private vehicle, compared with 1.1% and 68.3% respectively in the City of Greater Bendigo.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of Rural Bendigo and the City of Greater Bendigo were:
- A larger percentage of persons who worked at home (16.4% compared to 13.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who travelled by car (as a passenger) (3.6% compared to 4.7%)
