Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Port Phillip in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (12,379 females or 40.2%)
  • Managers (5,734 females or 18.6%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (4,770 females or 15.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 22,883 females in total or 74.3% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 30.4% in Professionals; 11.4% in Managers; and 19.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Port Phillip and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (40.2% compared to 30.4%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (18.6% compared to 11.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (10.5% compared to 15.4%)
