Dominant groups
The size of Snowy Monaro Regional Council area's female labour force in 2021 was 5,411, of which 2,411 were employed part-time and 2,540 were full time workers.
Analysis of the female employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area in 2021 compared to Rural East shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed. Overall, 97.5% of the female labour force was employed, and 2.5% unemployed, compared with 96.6% and 3.4% respectively for Rural East.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the female population in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area in 2021 shows that there was a higher proportion in the labour force (61.4%) compared with Rural East (55.3%).
Emerging groups
Between 2016 and 2021, the number of females employed in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area showed an increase of 648, and the number unemployed showed a decrease of 16. In the same period, the number of females in the labour force showed an increase of 632 or 13.2%.
