Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ward 2 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,704 people or 14.7%)
  • Retail Trade (3,133 people or 9.8%)
  • Education and Training (2,557 people or 8.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 10,394 people in total or 32.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.0% in Retail Trade; and 6.9% in Education and Training.

The major difference between the jobs held by the population of Ward 2 and Blacktown City was:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (8.0% compared to 6.9%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed people in Ward 2 increased by 153 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Ward 2 were for those employed in:
