Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ward 5 in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (6,305 people or 19.4%)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (4,859 people or 15.0%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (4,766 people or 14.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 15,930 people in total or 49.1% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 23.8% in Professionals; 11.1% in Machinery Operators And Drivers; and 15.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Ward 5 and Blacktown City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (15.0% compared to 11.1%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (10.9% compared to 8.6%)
