Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wingham in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (472 people or 23.9%)
  • Retail Trade (244 people or 12.4%)
  • Manufacturing (172 people or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 888 people in total or 45.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, MidCoast Council area employed 19.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.1% in Retail Trade; and 4.9% in Manufacturing.
