Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Brookvale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (258 people or 12.4%)
  • Retail Trade (221 people or 10.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (211 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 690 people in total or 33.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 11.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.5% in Retail Trade; and 14.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Brookvale and Northern Beaches Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (10.6% compared to 8.5%)
