Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Dee Why in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (2,120 people or 15.3%)
- Retail Trade (1,463 people or 10.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,452 people or 10.5%)
In combination, these three industries employed 5,035 people in total or 36.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 11.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.5% in Retail Trade; and 14.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Dee Why and Northern Beaches Council area were:
